This is just sort me rambling, but it’s something that’s been on my mind lately. Plus it’s 4am and I have nothing better to do.
We’ve all heard the arguments about where we come from, where the universe comes from, yadda yadda yadda. But you know, the one thing that I feel like is always overlooked or ignored by either side is just how we got here if you have a basic understanding of the stars. The stars are an absolutely marvelous thing. They inspire people, dance for us through the night sky, telling untold tales about our universe. They are absolutely beautiful when you are given a sky in which they can truly shine. Seriously, go out and just stargaze some evening. Fuck, if you can, do so now. I’ll wait.
Once you’ve taken the time to observe their beauty, you’ll understand what makes them even more amazing. The stars are why we’re here. They created us. They are what formed everything around us. Every atom we find was created in the furnace of a beautiful star somewhere. Or if not in the furnace of the star, in the glorious flash of destruction and brilliant light known as a supernova. The stardust from these blasts scatters throughout the universe, and the force of gravity from other stars forms them into new planets and even new stars. Our sun came from stardust like this. Earth came from stardust. And every person ultimately came from stardust.
YOU ARE MADE OF STARDUST.
And that is fucking amazing.
So fuck God, and anything else. I’ll worship the stars and bask in their creative light any day, knowing that every last bit of me came from the real heavens.
