What is Aurality?
It’s my blog. Nothing more. The name came from when we at Orbital couldn’t decide on a name for the new media blog and that was one that no one really objected to. The blog ultimately failed and the domain sat empty for roughly 2 years. I’ve since claimed it for my blog. It’ll be slowly filled with nonsense, my thoughts, silly pictures and videos and whatever else I feel inclined to share with the world.
Who am I?
I’m a Mechanical Engineering Student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. This is actually my third major, as I came in undeclared, went into civil engineering, realized I hated it and moved to mechanical. My ultimate aim is a career in roller coaster design, but that’s much later down the line in life. I also have a significant interest in political science and am minoring in it (and am at times tempted to make it a major).
I come from the Central New York region, which meant a relatively boring childhood, a lot of snow and plenty of shitty drivers. I am happy to consider myself a geek, though I’m not nearly as hardcore about it as many of the people you’ll find online. I game when I can, and spend a lot of time online reading webcomics. I also spend ungodly amounts of time playing Minecraft.
